History of Drag Racing

Drag Racing by definition is a speed contest between two entities from one point to another and as such a race between two dogs to that bowl of fresh Alpo can be considered a drag race. For our purposes however we will focus on automotive drag racing which is a contest between two racers in a vehicle of some kind from point A to point B.

More records fall!!!

Hello again fellow gearheads, I hope you're liking the content we provide so far and that we are living up to the name. This past month we have seen a number of records fall across a couple of events and one can only wonder what the rest of the season has to offer. Granted great air has been a factor so far and perhaps it will become more difficult as the temps rise as we approach summer, but with the constantly improving track prep and the relentless pursuit the racers and tuners alike have on finding that edge something tells me it will only get more exciting as the season progresses.

This  update comes from Maryland International Raceway (MIR) where they just held the 7th annual Door Wars event where Mike Decker and Ron Rhodes (two stalwarts in the heads-up scene) laid down record breaking 3.98 and 4.495 passes respectively. Decker accomplished the deed with a blown big block combination running on 10.5's  and Rhodes getting it done with a nasty  fire breathing small block nitrous combination running on X275's!! (you probably have these tires on your street car right now).

Fastest ODR pass in History

For all those Outlaw Drag Radial fans who have been following the class since the year began beginning with Radials vs the World you are in for a treat. Jason Michalak laid down the quickest ever pass in Outlaw Drag Radial racing history last weekend on Saturday 28th March. While this is not the quickest pass ever made it was in "Official" competition.

A combination of fantastic track prep and a team who pulled out all the stops to prepare what clearly was a race car that was on a mission and a driver who was determined to accomplish it, were all the start hat aligned to make this one for the record books. We want to congratulate all involved for putting together a great and safe run and loo forward to more coming out of this team. See the video below.
